SALINAS, Calif. - Salinas police arrested 44-year-old, Frank Daniel Gonzalez on Rockrose Street in East Salinas this morning. A patrolling officer spotted Gonzalez and a female passenger in a car behind the Autozone on North Sanborn.
When police approached Gonzalez, he ran from the vehicle into a nearby neighborhood. While running, he dropped several grams of methamphetamine and an unknown amount of money. Police said neighbors picked up most of the money and was not given to police.
Gonzalez was caught and tased by officers, but he was able to get up and run a few more blocks. He was caught and booked into the Monterey County Jail.
Officers followed his path to pick up any drugs that may have been dropped. Police searched his car and found heroin and methamphetamine inside the car.
The female passenger was not charged with a crime. Gonzalez was charged with possession/possession for sales of methamphetamine and heroin, violation of parole, resisting arrest and providing a false name to law enforcement.
