CHP Chase Suspect in Paso Robles Dies

PASO ROBLES, Calif. - The man who led the California Highway Patrol on a chase from Coalinga, Nathan Hamilton has died.

CHP says the suspect drove south down Highway 46 into San Luis Obispo County before hitting a spike strip and stopping in the center divider, near Geneseo Rd.

During that time, CHP shut down part of Highway 46 at Golden Hills, while CHP called in a K-9 unit to move in on the suspect.

According to the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's office, Hamilton who shot himself has died as a result of his injuries.
