Less than two weeks ago, Linda Clark got the call no parent wants to hear.
Her daughter Jenny died after the car she was riding in crashed into a tree last month.
"A mother shouldn't have to lose her child but God allowed her to be in my life for 39 year," says Clark. "I'm fortunate that way."
California Highway Patrol says the driver, Benjamin Bettencourt, was drunk.
"I have no feelings for him. I feel sorry for him," says Clark. "He lost a friend too and he's going to have to live with that for the rest of his life."
But now all eyes were on "Miss Jenny" as Jonata School in Buellton held a memorial to celebrate her life.
Hundreds shared memories of the fun-loving physical education teacher who touched so many lives.
Clark coached girls' soccer, boys' volleyball and physical education at schools across the Santa Ynez Valley.
"It's overwhelming to have this small community know her and I'm just glad she was happy up here and she drew this much love from people," says Clark. "Of course I'm going to miss her but at least I'm lucky enough to have her."
