LOS OSOS, Calif- A bizarre murder rocks a small central coast community. An 81-year-old woman Gewynn Taylor is dead, and law enforcement said the suspect is her 86-year-old husband George Taylor. The couple is well known for being community advocates.
Neighbors said they were shocked to hear about Gewynn's death, especially when they learned it was allegedly at the hands of her husband. "I can't believe it, it's a shock, its more than a shock, I truly can't believe that he would he would do anything to her or anybody," said the Taylor's neighbor Claire Downs.
"From what I know they loved each other, they are always together I've never seen them apart," said another neighbor, Alissa Feldman. According to the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office, Rangers found George and Gewynn Taylor in their car last night around 11 at Montana De Oro State Park, and Gewynn was dead. George was taken to Sierra Vista Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries.
Investigators won't say how Gewynn was killed but said from the preliminary investigation it looks like a possible suicide pact between the two. The couple lived in Los Osos for years, their daughter lives next door.
"They seemed to get along as far as we know, we never saw a fight or an argument over there," said Downs. The couple is well known for speaking their mind on Los Osos issues like the sewer project. "One or the other usually Gewynn would come and represent her ideas and George was always backing her up," said Feldman.
The Sheriff's Office will be conducting an autopsy on Gewynn Thursday
