SANTA MARIA, Calif. --
Santa Maria police arrested four suspects after what appeared to be a home
burglary this morning.
It happened at
around 8 a.m. near the 1500 block of Curryer Street.
Someone called
police, saying it looked like someone was breaking into a house. When officers
arrived they created a perimeter around the home and found several suspects with
parole violations and outstanding warrants.
"It was a suspicious circumstances call and when we get
those kind of calls, we treat them as it it's a possible residential burglary in
progress," says Sergeant Paul Van Meel of the Santa Maria Police Department.
Thirty-six-year old, Ramon Maldonado was arrested with a local
warrant along with probation violations from Monterey County.
Maldonado is known as
a gang member in Santa Maria and 29-year-old Nancy Cerna was arrested for being
under the influence of a controlled substance.
Fifty-year-old, Alfred
Plaza was arrested for a parole violation and warrants. he is known as a gang
member in Santa Maria.
And 46-year-old Tuanya
Gaitan was arrested for warrants.
All four suspects have
been booked into the Santa Barbara County Jail.
