Assault with Deadly Weapon Arrest

SANTA MARIA, Calif. -- Santa Maria police say they've made an arrest from a shooting this weekend.

It happened December 9th on the 400 block of North Oakley Avenue. Police say the victim who reported the shooting was 24-year old Ricardo Ramirez. Officers found 31-year old Feliciano Bravo Ruiz on the 200 block of Varner Court with a gunshot wound. Ruiz was taken to the hospital for his injuries and later released.

On December 11th officers arrested Ruiz who was booked into the Santa Barbara County Jail for charges of assault of a deadly weapon.

Police say the shooting isn't gang related, and they're not looking for any other suspects. Officers said there was no dispute before the shooting. The investigation is not being forwarded to the Santa Barbara County District Attorney's Office for review.
