GAVIOTA STATE BEACH, Calif. - The Santa Barbara County sheriff's department is investigating a panga boat found at Gaviota State Park.
This is the 10th panga boat found on the Central Coast so far this year. It was reported about midnight.
Initial reports said as many as 15 people were on the boat.
The Sheriff's Department tells us nine people have been taken into custody deputies are still searching the surrounding area with canines.
A large amount of marijuana was taken off the boat.
Border Patrol and Immigration and Customs Enforcement are now involved in this investigation with assistance from the US Coast Guard and Sheriff's Department.
