SAN LUIS OBISPO COUNTY, Calif. - Sixth grade students are heading to middle school next year after the San Luis Obispo Coastal Board of Trustees approved the decision Tuesday night.
More than 130 students will move from Morro Bay and Los Osos Elementary schools to Los Osos Middle School.
Parents say they are concerned that with this move, kids could be forced to grow up faster.
The assistant superintendent says the school has more than enough room for new students and that the move will incorporate a new program known as S.T.E.A.M.
S.T.E.A.M. stand for science, technology, engineering, arts and math and is similar to studies schools around the nation are now focusing on.
