SANTA MARIA, Calif. - Santa Maria Fire Department responded to a small house fire late Thursday afternoon.
Crews responded to the fire around 4:30m at 1041 Hacienda Way. When they got there, they found a fire in the bedroom, with the owner dousing the flames from his backyard with a garden hose.
Firefighters deployed what they call an "aggressive fire attack," which prevented the fire from entering other areas of the house. They were able to control the fire by 5:00pm.
The fire did not cause any injuries, but it did cause about $15,000 dollars in damage to the home, and $5,000 in damage to contents in the home. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
