BUELLTON, Calif. - UPDATE: Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office Coroner Investigators were able to confirm the identity of the two women struck and killed on State Route 154 at Rancho San Marcos Golf Course on December 21/Friday night just before midnight.
The women have been positively identified as Sara Ornelas, a 54 year old resident from the City of Santa Barbara and Barbara Romero, a 49 year old resident from the City of Lompoc. Next of kin have been notified.
Anyone with information about the collision is encouraged to contact the Buellton Office of the California Highway Patrol at 805 688-5551, as they are the primary agency investigating the cause of this incident.

At around midnight Friday, two women in their 50's were stuck and killed as they were walking along the roadway on Highway 154 at the Rancho San Marcos Golf Course near Buellton.
Two of the vehicles were contacted at the scene but one fled.
That driver, Martin Macarena, 48, was later arrested for felony hit and run causing injuries.
California Highway Patrol is still looking for more vehicles involved.
"Witnesses have said they believe the second victim was hit multiple times by several other vehicles so we are looking for the media to pass this all that we are looking for other people to come forward," said California Highway Patrol Buellton Public Information Officer John Ortega.
Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene.
