PASO ROBLES, Calif. - (UPDATE) The woman killed in Wednesday's car accident in Paso Robles has been identified as 19 year old Morganne Cortes of Paso Robles.
According the the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Coroner's Unit of the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office the woman who died in a car crash at Highway 46 and Golden Hill Road in Paso Robles on 12-26-12.
The woman has been identified as 19-year-old Morganne Cortes of Paso Robles. An autopsy is pending to determine the manner and cause of death. The Paso Robles Police Department is handling the accident investigation.
(Wednesday, December 26, 2012) - Paso Robles Police and CHP responded quickly this morning to a multi car fatal accident near Highway 46 and Golden Hill Road. Four people were injured and one person, a female passenger died.
According to Police the identities of the persons involved in this collision are:
28 year old Paso Robles resident Samuel Hernandez (driver)
30 year old Paso Robles resident Justin Delphenich (driver)
19 year old Oceano resident Victoria Gonzales (driver)
30 year old Paso Robles resident Maximo Hernandez (passenger)
Gonzales was treated and released from Twin Cities Community Hospital. All of the other parties were transported via ambulance to Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center with moderate to severe injuries. None of these injuries appear to be life-threatening.
The identity of the deceased female passenger is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. Any further inquiries about the deceased party should be directed to the coroner unit of the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office.
The cause of the collision is still under investigation. The Atascadero Police Department is assisting with this investigation.
ORIGINAL PRESS RELEASE
On 12/26/12 at approximately 0900 hours, the Paso Robles Police Department and the Paso Robles Department of Emergency Services responded to a possible fatal traffic accident at State Route 46 East and Golden Hill Road.
Initial information at the scene indicates 3 vehicles were involved and 3 injured persons are being transported to local hospitals. A fourth person at the scene of the collision is deceased. An investigation into the cause of the collision is on-going.
The California Highway Patrol, the Sheriff's Department and Caltrans assisted with this incident.
