SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. - PG&E officials say a broken power connector is to blame for leaving 500 homes in the San Luis Obispo area without power on Thursday night.

The line, located on the 3600 block of South Higuera Street, initially knocked out power to 508 homes.   It mainly affected customers on South Higuera Street, as well as Messiner Street.  About an hour later, the number of homes was reduced to 140.

Crews were able to restore power to residents shortly after 1:30 on Friday morning.
