NEW YORK, NY. -- Fox News is reporting that a 24-year old woman was arrested and charged Friday in connection with the ambush and killing of two volunteer firefighters who were responding to a fire in New York.

Police arrested Dawn Nguyen of Rochester. She faces charges of filing false business records. Nguyen also faces federal charges.  Police said the charges are connected to the purchase of the AR-15 semiautomatic rifle and 12-gauge shotgun that was used by William Spengler during the Christmas Eve fatal shooting. Volunteer firefighters Michael Ciapperini and Tomasz Kaczowka were killed and three other people were injured.

The gunman, 62-year old William Spengler killed himself after shooting at the firefighters. Fox News reported that Nguyen lived next door to Spengler in 2008. Spengler was in prison for 17 years for killing his grandmother in 1980. After his conviction he was barred from possessing weapons. He was released from prison in 2006.
