Obama Calls Fiscal Cliff Meeting 'Constructive'

Posted: Updated:

WASHINGTON D.C. -- President Obama gave a special report Friday afternoon after meeting with congressional leaders at the White House.

The president and members of Congress met for just over an hour to discuss ways to avoid the fiscal cliff. The president described the meeting as "constructive and candid."

A deal has still not been reached to avoid the fiscal cliff. If a budget is not met by the end of the year, millions of Americans could see their taxes go up.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., House Majority Leader John Boehner, R-Ohio, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif. were all the people who met at the White House on Friday.
