Retirement Home May Become Apartment Complex

SANTA MARIA, Calif. - According to the Santa Maria Planning Commission, a retirement center may be turned into an apartment complex.

Western Sky Communities has proposed changing the Laz-E-Daze Retirement Center into an apartment complex complete with 91 units and a community building.

If the proposal passes, the Planning Commission and City Council would need to approve the changes.

The meeting is set for 10:00 Thursday morning.
