Prostitution Sting Underway in Santa Maria

SANTA MARIA, Calif. - A prostitution sting is underway in Santa Maria.

In November 2012 and January 2013, two females cops went under cover to find out how often prostitutes are being solicited.

21 men have been arrested at various locations on East Main and North and South Broadway looking for sex. Ten were arrested in November and eleven have been arrested so far this month.

Police tell us this marks the beginning of an investigative series to address the issue of prostitution in the city of Santa Maria.
