SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - Fire investigators have determined the fire at the Montecito Motors building on Thursday was started by a transient just trying to get warm.
That homeless man, 41-year-old Andrew Easton, was arrested the day after the fire broke out.
Investigators believe Easton started the fire early Thursday morning to keep himself warm and when he left the area, he did not extinguish the flames properly.
Easton was booked in to Santa Barbara County Jail on charges of causing a structural fire without malice.
