SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. - The Department of Public Works will shut down Higuera Street from Marsh Street To South Street for overnight road construction this week.
Cal Portland Construction will grind Higuera Street between the hours of 8pm to 6am Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. During these times, that portion of Higuera Street will be closed and detours will be in place.
The area will be paved on Sunday January 13th from 6am to 4pm.
Officials say to expect delays along this stretch of the road during these times. They remind drivers to be cautious on the roads, watch for pedestrians, and share the road with bicyclists.
The construction is part of the Mid-Higuera Rehabilitation project, which included the installation of new traffic signals and curb ramps at the intersections of Higuera and Marsh and Higuera and High.
