SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, Calif. - One man is dead after a fatal motorcycle accident in Montecito near Westmont College according to California Highway Patrol.
The collision happened on Cold Springs Road, south of La Paz Road.
A 21-year-old man was riding his motorcycle around 9 p.m. Tuesday night and at times, he reached 100 miles per hour.
When he got off the exit, he lost control of his motorcycle and crashed into a tree.
He was ejected from the bike, which then caught on fire.
The driver died at the scene.
The CHP says the accident is under investigation and it is unknown if alcohol or drugs were a factor in the deadly crash.
