SANTA BARBARA, Calif.- A thief is no longer on the run and Santa Barbara Police say the public is to thank.
Santa Barbara Police say after releasing surveillance footage to the public, they were able to identify and cite the suspect. Officers have identified the suspect as 32-year-old Anthony Hentschel, of Santa Barbara.
Police say Hentschel admitted to stealing a laptop computer from a pawn shop, back in October. Hentschel was issued a misdemeanor citation for theft with an arraignment date of February 13, 2013. The stolen computer was recovered and returned to the victim.
