SANTA MARIA, Calif. - After a heated city council meeting, no action was taken regarding a vacant city council seat.
City Manager Rick Haydon presented the options the city could take to fill the seat. The seat was left open by now Mayor Alice Patino. The city council either had to choose someone to take the spot immediately, or hold an open application process.
A number of people voiced their opinion during public comment. The room was packed with standing room only. But eventually the city council decided to take no action. They will meet on February 5th to discuss the issue again.
