MONTEREY, Calif.- Tuesday night Monterey police officers got a report of possible threats being made by a Monterey High School student.
The report indicated that the threats were directed at other students on social media.
Detectives arrested the student leaving a home in Seaside going to school around 7:30 Wednesday monring.
Following an intensive investigation including a search of the Seaside home, the student was released without charges, although the investigation will be forwarded to the Juvenile Probation Department for their review.
The Monterey Police Department and school officials worked together to ensure that students were safe and that the proper intervention occurred.
Police say this is a good reminder to contact law enforcement when worrisome statements about the health and safety of others become known.
