ARROYO GRANDE, Calif. - San Luis Obispo County Air officials held a public meeting on Wednesday night to talk about air quality levels in the Nipomo Mesa.
The Air Pollution Control District released the results of an air quality study at Mesa Middle School in Arroyo Grande, to show how far dust can travel from the Oceano Dunes to the Nipomo Mesa.
The study will help the county better forecast air quality in neighborhoods, based on wind conditions.
"The cause of it really doesn't matter from a health perspective." said Air Pollution Control Officer, Larry Allen. "What we're looking at is providing information to the public on their exposure to the dust."
People who live in the affected areas will now be able to check the air quality index for their neighborhood.
