SANTA MARIA, Calif. - Lance Armstrong admitted to using performance enhancing drugs during a televised interview with Oprah that aired on Thursday night.
Armstrong admitted to using the substances during each of his seven Tour De France victories. He even said that it wouldn't be humanly possible to win all of those times if he hadn't been doping.
"I view this situation as one big lie, that I repeated a lot of times." said Armstrong, during the interview. "And as you said it was as if I said no and moved off it."
Just yesterday, Armstrong was stripped of his bronze medal from the 2000 Sydney Olympics. He also lost all seven of his Tour De France titles in October after the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency released a report on him, claiming he was leading one of the most sophisticated doping programs the sport has ever seen.
Armstrong has declared his innocence for close to a decade. The World-Anti Doping Agency says Armstrong's confession could reduce his lifetime ban from sports if he confesses under oath.
In the interview, Armstrong admitted that taking these drugs was so routine for him, it was as common as having air in his tires or water in his bottles.
