Beating and Robbery Suspect Arrested

SANTA MARIA, Calif. - It's jail for a Santa Maria man who beat and then robbed a victim on the 300 block of West Cypress around 5:40 Sunday afternoon according to Santa Maria police.

Police say Christian Rubalcava engaged the victim in conversation and then starting beating the victim on the head.

That's when police say he took off with cash and property from the victim.

Rubalcava was taken into custody and found with the property nearby.

He was booked in Santa Barbara County Jail for robbery.
