SANTA BARBARA, Calif.- The California Highway Patrol is asking for the public's help in locating the driver of 2010-2013 white Hyundai Tucson involved in a fatal hit and run that happened last Tuesday.
They say that the vehicle should be missing the left side driver mirror and a piece of the plastic front bumper.
The crash happened between Ortega Street pedestrian over-crossing, and the off-ramp at Castillo Street killing 22-year-old Simon Chavez. Chavez was the Junior Varsity baseball coach for Santa Barbara High School last year.
Meantime, a memorial will held for Chavez later this week. Rosary services will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church at 7:30pm on Wednesday evening, where the public is invited to attend.
If you recognize the vehicle or have any information contact the Santa Barbara CHP office at 967-1234.
