Santa Barbara Police To Conduct Crosswalk Enforcement Sting

SANTA BARBARA, Calif.- The Santa Barbara Police Department will conduct crosswalk enforcement operation on Thursday, January 24, 2013. The sting will be held recently improved crosswalks on Milpas Street at Ortega and Yanonali Streets, as well as other various locations around the city. For more information, see story below.

The City of Santa Barbara recently improved pedestrian crossing conditions on Milpas St. at Ortega and Yanonali Streets.  Part of the improvements includes pedestrian activated flashing lights.  When the lights are flashing, it indicates that a pedestrian is trying to cross the street.  In order to raise awareness at these crosswalks, the Santa Barbara Police department, with the assistance of the traffic engineering department, will be conducting pedestrian crosswalk enforcement actions at these locations and other locations throughout the city of Santa Barbara on Thursday January 24, 2013.  If you have any questions please contact Sergeant Mike McGrew.
