A Texas mother is urging the public to help with the search to find her missing 21-year-old son, who she says could be in San Luis Obispo County.
Lori Zullo says her son, Caleb Werntz, went missing last Tuesday after she says never heard back from him. The mother says Werntz originally was staying in Paso Robles then left the home and checked into a warming center in San Luis Obispo County. Werntz left the center last Sunday, but has not been seen since.
Zullo says that she contacts her son all the time through social media, specifically Twitter, but there hasn't been anything posted since he went missing. Zullo says her son's last few posts online showed his frustration with being homeless and out in the cold.
"He was just very desperate. He was in a very sad spot. He hated being out there in the cold. He hated being out there by himself. He used Twitter all the time and everything just stopped on January 12th."
Detectives from San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Department say they are following this case. If you recognize Werntz you're asked to contact the Sheriff's Department.
