Chase Through Santa Maria Ends in Avila Beach

AVILA BEACH, Calif. - Santa Maria Police arrested four people after a high-speed chase with CHP that ended in Avila Beach. 

Officers arrested the driver 25-year old Bradley Larson and passengers 26-year old Nancy Camacho, 41-year old Laura Alvarez and 39-year old Thomas Clutts.

According to CHP, the suspect started the chase in Santa Maria and led them up Highway 101. Officers threw a spike strip at out at Spyglass Drive puncturing the front two tires.   The suspect got off of the Highway and then tried to get back heading South. That's when he veered off the road.

It happened early Wednesday morning just before 5:00 a.m. Santa Maria Police caught up with the car as it tried to re-enter the freeway near Avila Beach. Officers were able to stop the car before it got back on Highway 101.

Police said Bradley Larson was a wanted parolee. He was also charged with felony evading police, felony vehicle theft, possession of meth, transporting meth and two other arrest warrants.

Thomas Clutts had two felony warrants for his arrest. Clutts is also charged with false impersonation. Laura Alvarez and Nancy Camacho face charges of being under the influence of meth.
