SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, Calif. - We will know in approximately 30 days the Court of Appeal's decision on releasing a sexually violent predator into Santa Barbara County.
Tibor Karsai is at the end of a 26 year sentence for raping a 16-year-old girl in Placer County and was originally set to be released near a Santa Maria school.
Since the announcement, the Santa Barbara County District Attorney's office has gone to bat, fighting to keep this sex offender from being released on the Central Coast.
Since last year, the matter has been forwarded to the Court of Appeals.
The Court of Appeals is expected to release their findings on the matter within the next 30 days.
Until then, the California Supreme Court has stepped in and ultimately halted Karsai from being released on the Central Coast.
