SOLVANG, Calif. - A car accident on Highway 154 left a local man with a history of DUI charges stranded on Monday night.
California Highway Patrol officials say Michael Crolius of Solvang drove his Toyota Prius at high speeds, causing him to lose control around a sharp turn, which sent his car flying off the embankment.
After searching for him all night, CHP found him at 8:30am Tuesday morning. Crolius was taken to Cottage Hospital for a shoulder injury.
CHP officials say Crolius may have been on prescription drugs. If convicted, this would be his fourth DUI in three years.
