Defense Flight Tests Scheduled for Saturday at Vandenberg Air Force Base

VANDENBERG AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- The U.S. Defense Agency has scheduled flight tests of its Ground-Based Midcourse Defense system. The testing date is January 26th from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

The tests will be done on the North base. Tests will include a launch of three-stage ground-based missile. The Air Force said no target missile will be launched and will not have an intercept.

The tests are being done to improve the Ballistic Missile Defense System.
