PAJARO, Calif. -- Police arrested a man Thursday for possession of a loaded concealed firearm, probation violation and gang enhancement charges.

According to Watsonville Police, an officer was conducting an area check in Pajaro for a vehicle involved in an earlier shooting in Watsonville. The officer saw three suspected gang members standing in the parking lot of a liquor store on Porter Drive. That's when, according to police, one of the suspects ran over to a gate, and appeared to discard an object before trying to hide from the officer. The officer contacted and detained the suspect, identified as Bryan Ponciano. Police say he was on probation with gang, weapon and alcohol terms.

Officers said the searched the area around the gate and found a knife and loaded revolver on the ground. Police arrested Ponciano, who they said was intoxicated at the time.
