WATSONVILLE, Calif. -- Police arrested 19-year old Bryan Ponciano of Watsonville for felony charges of possession of a loaded concealed firearm, probation violation and gang enhancements.

Police said it happened late Thursday night. A Watsonville police officer did an area check for a car involved in a shooting earlier that day in Watsonville.

Officers spotted three suspected gang members standing in the parking lot on Porter Drive. Police said one of the men ran over an iron gate and threw an object while trying to hide from officers. Police said they caught 19-year old Bryan Ponciano who was on probation for gang, weapon and alcohol terms.

In an area-search police found a knife and loaded gun on the ground. They said Ponciano was intoxicated and arrested for violations of having a firearm, probation violation and gang enhancements.
