NORTH OF SOLEDAD, Calif. -- The California Highway Patrol said the bridge that leads to the Salinas Valley State Prison in Soledad will be closed for the next four or five days, at least.
Investigators said Saturday morning an 18-wheeler towing a backhoe damaged the bridge around 8 a.m.
Drivers will have to continue southbound on Highway 101, exit at Camphora Gloria, turn back around on the highway to take the exit to the Correctional Training Facility.
