Teen Identified in Deadly Salinas Shooting

SALINAS, Calif. -- Police have identified the victim of Sunday afternoon's deadly shooting on La Posada Drive as 17-year old Jorge Alberto Perez.

According to police, when they arrived on scene they found Perez suffering from a gunshot wound. Perez was transported to a local hospital, where he died as a result of his injuries.

Witnesses describe seeing a dark colored Nissan or Honda leaving the area immediately after the shooting. The case is being investigated as gang-related. If you have any information on the shooting, you're urged to call Salinas Police.
