Cuyama Barn Fire Caused by Malfunctioning Equipment

CUYAMA, Calif. - A barn fire that broke out around 10 Tuesday morning on the 2000 block of Foothill Road in Cuyama was related to malfunctioning mechanical equipment according to Santa Barbara County Fire.

Fire officials say that the barn is about 3,000 square feet and flames engulfed about half of the barn.

Santa Barbara County Fire responded with two engines, an investigator, a water tender and a battalion chief.

Kern County Fire Department, Santa Maria Fire Department and the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Department assisted Santa Barbara County Fire in dousing the flames.
