SLO Teen in Critical Condition After Highway 101 Crash

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif.- The San Luis Obispo teenager who was injured in a crash on Highway 101 Monday night is in critical condition.

The victim has been identified as 17-year-old Alex Maier. Maier is a student and soccer player at San Luis Obispo High School. According to a hospital spokesperson, he is currently in critical condition at Sierra Vista Medical Center.

California Highway Patrol says Maier's car collided with a Ford F-150 at about 8:30 Monday evening near Santa Rosa Road.

Maier's soccer team was scheduled to play Mission Prep Monday night, but according to the school's website, the game has been postponed.
