
SANTA BARBARA, Calif. -- Police said they arrested 28-year old John Randall Leong of Santa Barbara on several charges stemming from sales of heroin.
Narcotics detectives said they received a tip that Leong was selling heroin in the city and county area of Santa Barbara.
Investigators started surveillance of him on January 22nd and saw him make contact with people consistent with the sale of narcotics. Officers said they saw Leong make several trips between Santa Barbara and Ventura.
Police caught up with Leong on a traffic stop on the 400 block of Old Coast Highway. Officers searched Leong and found a baggie in his front pants that had 102 bindles of black tar heroin that's valued around $30 each. Police said they also found small quantities of meth and a meth pipe on Leong.
Leong was arrested and booked into the Santa Barbara County jail for felony possession or heroin for sale, heroin sales, transporting heroin, possession of meth, transporting meth, possession of narcotics paraphernalia. His bail has been set at $30,000.
