
SANTA BARBARA, Calif. -- Police arrested 40-year old Jorge Madrigal Contreras of Santa Barbara for charges stemming from drug distribution to local drug dealers.
Santa Barbara police detectives got a search warrant for Contreras' home in the 4800 block of San Simeon Drive. Police made an arrest on Saturday, January 26th after they surveillanced Contreras.
Officers stopped Contreras when he started driving away from his home. When police searched him they found 2 bindles of meth and a meth pipe in his pants. Inside the home they found about 2.4 lbs of meth and over $19,000 in case. Police also found scales in the home and other items used for preparing meth to sell.
Police said the meth found in Contreras' home is worth up to $25,000. Contreras was arrested and booked into Santa Barbara County Jail for felony possession of meth for sale, transportation of meth, possession of narcotics paraphernalia. Investigators said his bail amount was set at $100,000.
