San Luis Obispo High School Student, Alex Maier, Dies From Accident Injuries

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif.- The San Luis Obispo teenager who was injured in a crash on Highway 101 Monday night has passed away from his injuries.

A spokesperson from Sierra Vista Medical Center tells Central Coast News, 17-year-old Alex Maier died at approximately 5:25 Wednesday evening at the hospital.

Maier was a student and soccer player at San Luis Obispo High School. The California Highway Patrol says Maier was driving his Ford F-150 pickup truck when it collided with a BMW near Santa Rosa Road southbound on Highway 101 around 8:30 PM Monday night.
