Two People Arrested In Connection With Stolen Vehicle Pursuit

Posted: Updated:

SANTA MARIA, Calif.- Santa Maria Police arrested two people they say led officers on a vehicle pursuit while driving a stolen car.

Santa Maria Police say David De Los Santos, 35, and Renae Burpee, 30, led officers on a pursuit Monday in 500 block of West Mill. Officers eventually stopped the chase when they thought it was unsafe due to De Los Santos' reckless driving.

It wasn't until Wednesday morning on the 200 block of North McClelland, officers observed De Los Santos walking in the area. After a short foot chase, De Los Santos was apprehended and later booked for stolen vehicle and evading charges.

Burpee, 30 years of Nipomo, has been identified as being a passenger in the stolen vehicle and possessed two outstanding felony warrants.  Burpee was booked on her outstanding arrest warrants and for possession of stolen property.
