Teenager Shot in Monterey, Police Looking For Suspect

MONTEREY, Calif- A 19-year-old was shot in Monterey late Thursday night. According to police the shooting happened just before midnight in the area of Beach and Tide Streets.

The victim was driven to the Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula by a friend. He was later taken flown to the San Jose Regional Hospital and is in stable condition, said police.

Police say that the teenager is from Salinas and has gang ties. Police are still investigating this shooting and at this time have no suspects.
