SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, Calif. - The suspect wanted in a stabbing Tuesday night in Orcutt was arrested Thursday at a traffic stop in Santa Maria according to the Santa Barbara County Sheriff.
51-year-old Irvin Basquez was arrested in connection with the stabbing when Santa Maria Police stopped the car he was in matched the description of a car connected to a Walmart theft.
Authorities say that they found Basquez sitting in the back seat and arrested him.
The three other people in the car were also arrested. One was arrested for connection with the Walmart theft and the others for probation and parole violations.
Basquez has been booked into the Santa Barbara County Jail and charged with attempted murder.
Bail is set at $1,000,000.
