SAN LUIS OBISPO,
Calif. -- Robbers on the Central Coast have a new
target...motels!
The Lexington Inn in
San Luis Obispo was robbed Saturday night and police say this isn't the first
time.
"Think the clerk was more surprised than anything," says
San Luis Obispo Police Sergeant Fred Mickel.
The motel was robbed twice within
the past three days.
"It's kind of odd," says Mickel.
"The fact that they returned to the same place twice, that's very
unusual."
The suspect entered the motel
wearing a ski mask and demanded money from the clerk at gun point.
The Lexington motel supervisor
released this statement to Central Coast News saying:
"Our company is concerned about these recent events. Our
first priority is the safety of our guests and employees. We have implemented
security measures to confront this problem."
Now, police are trying to figure
out if both crimes were committed by the same suspect. Police describe the
suspect in both robberies as a thin, white male in his 20's. Anyone with
information is urged to contact the San Luis Obispo Police Department.
