Swim suit season is one of the most fun times of year especially for those who are in great shape. However, for those who are out of shape it can be an embarrassing time. It can be a time of going to water parks, swimming pools, and beaches while still keeping a shirt on. Great abdominal muscles are something that many strive for but very few obtain. There are some secrets to great abs that many do not know about.
1. Do not skimp on sleeping at night. A Harvard study shows that those who are sleep deprived are more susceptible to weight gain. Sleep deprivation can cause over eating and lethargy. By not sleeping enough this can interfere with the hormones that control hunger and promote over eating. Another downside to not sleeping is that there is more time to eat out of boredom, comfort, or just hunger. 2. Stay hydrated. This means to drink a large glass of water before doing anything else in the morning. The colder the water the better it is for burning calories. The body has to warm the water up body temperature before it can be processed. It is important to keep the body hydrated at all times.
3. Breakfast truly is the most important part of the day. It is important to eat breakfast within the first hour of being awake. The body is hungry after being at rest for eight hours. Without food the body will go into starvation mode and will start to pull nutrients from wherever it can. It will also keep everything that is given to it. By eating breakfast this helps to ensure that the body will not go into starvation mode. It is also important to eat several small meals throughout the day to keep the metabolism active.
