Photo Courtesy of DannyLOMPOC, Calif. - Lompoc Police and Fire responded to a possible hit and run death on College and "I" Street early Wednesday morning.
According to Police:
At approximately 6:11 AM, the Lompoc Police Department was dispatched to a "man down" call at the intersection of College Ave. and I St., Lompoc.
The victim, an elderly male, was found on the street with injuries to his head and other extremities. The paramedics arrived but were unable to revive the victim and he was pronounced deceased at the scene. The injuries appear to be consistent with being struck by a vehicle.
This incident occurred no more than a few minutes prior to LPD being notified at 6:11 AM. The Detective Bureau is currently investigating the incident and encourages anyone with information or who was in that area around the time of the incident to please come forward.
The victim's identity is not being released at this time.
