SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. - The skeletal remains found last July on a Chevron-owned property in San Luis Obispo have been identified.
The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Department say the body has been identified as 51-year-old William Grable II, a transient from Texas.
Deputies found the remains on July 15th on Tank Farm Road in the bed of a creek. They then submitted the case to the Department of Justice for DNA profiling, and then to the National Missing Persons Database.
The DNA profile was identified last December, and finally the Texas Department of Justice made the match.
The cause of the death is still undetermined because the remains were badly decomposed.
