RIVERSIDE CO., Calif. - Police all over the state have launched a massive manhunt for 33-year old Christopher Dorner, a former LAPD officer suspected of killing a couple over the weekend and opening fire on four officers early Thursday. One officer was killed and another critically wounded, authorities said.
Investigators found the suspect's burned gray Nissan Titan near Big Bear Lake, which is about 100 miles East of Los Angeles. Police followed tracks that started from where the car was left burned. Investigators wouldn't say where the tracks led them to, and that Dorner is still at large.
The search for Christopher Dorner, who was fired from the Los Angeles Police Department in 2008 for making false statements, began after he was linked to the weekend killing of the daughter of a former police captain and her fiance, reports CBS. Dorner released an 11-page manifesto online about going after police officers and their families. A Blue Alert was issued by California Highway Patrol early Thursday morning warning the public about Dorner, saying he's armed and dangerous. If anyone sees him call 911.
