SALINAS, Calif. - Police are investigating reports of an armed robbery at Virginia Rocca Barton Elementary School in Salinas.

It happened just before seven Friday evening on the 600 block of Las Casitas.

Investigators say two 15-year-olds were on the hillside of Twin Creeks Golf Course smoking marijuana, when they saw an employee of the school.  One of the teens reportedly confronted the employee in the restroom, motioning that he had a handgun.  The teen got away with some money and the employee's cell phone.

Police caught up with the teenager and found the victim's money and phone.  He was booked into Juvenile Hall. The other teenager appeared not to be involved and was taken home by police.
